What's this Thing-of-a-jig?

Before you make the wrong assumptions about this peculiar do-dad, let me just say that it isn't what you think. It serves a specific function. No, it doesn't DO that either. This object is called, "The Humane Mousetrap." When the mouse enters, the tube will tilt with the weight of the mouse. The mouse is trapped via a ping pong ball inside. That's just plain cool industrial design. It's efficient, safe, and appeals to the "green" side in all of us. So, the next time you find a bizarre object at a friend's house, don't jump to conclusions. On sale at the Museum of Useful Things for $11.50.
